So as I mentioned in a previous post, my husband and I took our first guided vacation this past month with Insight. We decided that we were having so much fun on our own in the first day in Rome, that we would skip out on the welcome drink and just meet up later for dinner. Let's just say it was not the best idea we had. It was not only that the group all introduced one another and had time to mingle, but the tour director passed out a lot of important information about the first few days of the tour like what time breakfast was served daily, what time to be ready for the Vatican tour and what time to have luggage out on the follow day. The tour director was nice enough to meet with us in the evening privately to get us up to speed. This is not to say that we didn't go off on our own from time to time in certain cities because we did, but the first night was not the time to do it.
Lesson learned and we can now pass this advice onto clients. Start your tour on the right foot and take the time to enjoy your drink, meet your fellow passengers and be well informed for your trip.
